Greenfish Relief Map Generator Review
Greenfish Relief Map Generator is a free tool that allows you to create simulated relief maps without requiring any image data or trace data. This makes it ideal for creating demos, worldbuilding projects, and planning travel.
You can customize the color and size of the map, as well as the style of the map. Depending on the type of map you are making, you can include mountains, plains, hills, land borders, shadows, water, and more. Also, you can choose from a variety of town names. In addition, you can select from a database of fictitious locations and settlements, or load a text file of your own.
When you're finished generating the map, you can save it as a BMP image. You can also set the maximum and minimum sea depth, and the amount of shadows and town marks. Then you can preview the image, and you can even automatically refresh it if you want. After you've generated the map, you can export it as a file, and you can transfer it to a USB flash drive or move it to another location.
While the application is free, it is only licensed as Freeware. Therefore, you are responsible for keeping adequate backups of your data. If you ever need to use the program again, you will have to purchase a license. It is available as a download for Windows, but you can also run it on a USB device. Although there does not appear to be any updates or support, it is a useful tool for worldbuilding projects, and you can easily create earthlike maps quickly.
